RETURNING TO LOVE

DISCOVERY & LOVE WITHIN PRACTICE
Practice for Self-Discovery and Cultivating Love Within and for Ourselves:
Find a quiet space where you can sit comfortably and have a few moments of uninterrupted time. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths to center yourself.
MINDFUL BODY SCAN
Begin by bringing your attention to your body. Start at the top of your head and slowly move down, observing any sensations or areas of tension or ease. Notice without judgment and simply become aware of your physical presence.
SELF-REFLECTION
Gently shift your focus to your thoughts and emotions. Allow any thoughts or feelings that arise to be acknowledged and observed, without attachment or judgment. Take note of any recurring patterns or beliefs that may come up, both positive and negative.
LOVING-KINDNESS MEDITATION
Bring your attention to your heart center. Visualize a warm and radiant light emanating from within your heart, filling your entire being. As you breathe, repeat the following phrases in your mind or aloud, directing them towards yourself:
- May I be filled with love and compassion.
- May I be happy and at peace.
- May I accept myself fully, with kindness and understanding.
Repeat these phrases several times, allowing their meaning to sink deeply within you. Feel the love and kindness flowing towards yourself, embracing your whole being.
GRATITUDE PRACTICE
Shift your focus to gratitude by reflecting on things you appreciate about yourself and your life. Bring to mind moments, qualities, or experiences that evoke a sense of gratitude. Take a few moments to savor and express gratitude for those aspects.
SELF-EXPRESSION
Find a creative outlet for self-expression, such as journaling, drawing, dancing, or singing. Allow yourself the freedom to express your thoughts, emotions, and dreams without judgment or censorship. Engage in this activity with a sense of playfulness and curiosity, allowing yourself to connect with your inner voice and desires.
LOVING AFFIRMATIONS
Create affirmations that reinforce self-love and cultivate positive beliefs about yourself. Use statements such as "I am worthy of love and joy," "I embrace my imperfections and celebrate my uniqueness," or "I am deserving of kindness and compassion." Repeat these affirmations to yourself throughout the day, grounding yourself in a loving and affirming mindset.
Remember, self-discovery and cultivating love within and for ourselves is an ongoing journey. Engage in this practice regularly and be patient and compassionate with yourself as you explore and learn more about who you truly are.
